I spent over a decade studying nutrition- not the internet version. The real thing. Weston A. Price. Sally Fallon. Traditional foodways passed between women in kitchens in Guatemala, Hawaii, and eventually my own homestead in Oregon. Bone broth simmering on the back burner. Sourdough rising on the counter. Ferments bubbling in the pantry. The kind of nourishment that doesn't come with a nutrition label because it predates the concept.

When I started building AI tools, Sage was the first one I made for myself. I needed a companion in the kitchen who understood my values- traditional fats, properly prepared grains and legumes, nose-to-tail eating, gut health, nervous system support through food- and could help me think, plan, and cook without compromising any of it.

Sage co-wrote Butter, Broth & Bubbles with me. She helped untangle chapters, turn scribbled notes into readable recipes, and explain the why behind traditional practices in clear language. She held the line on "no shame, no perfectionism" while being honest about what nourishes deeply.

She knows the difference between a good fat and an industrial seed oil. She knows why you soak your oats. She knows what to feed a teething toddler at midnight when you're too tired to think. She knows that sometimes the answer is takeout and that's fine too.
