I built The Becoming for adults standing in thresholds. And then I watched my daughter — three years old, sitting on the floor, reaching for my cards — and I realized: she doesn't need to lose this knowing first and spend thirty years finding it again.
That's the Cub Cards. Not a watered-down version of the adult deck. A whole system designed for the people who haven't forgotten yet — and for the parents who want to help them keep it.
73 cards. Built on the same structural intelligence as The Becoming, but translated entirely for young children and the adults who hold them.
21 Major Arcana mapped to the Hero's Journey — from The Call through The Companion, The Challenge, The Transformation, and The Homecoming. Each card holds two layers: a child's lesson and a parent's reflection. The journey isn't taught. It's played.
52 Minor Arcana across four elements — Fire, Earth, Air, Water. Each element carries nine thematic cards progressing from discovery through mastery to integration, plus four Family Archetypes: Mother, Father, Grandmother, Grandfather. Every card has a character, a story, an image, and a conversation waiting to happen.
A daily pull. A bedtime draw. A feelings check-in when the morning goes sideways. Simple spreads designed for small hands and short attention spans — The Adventure Spread (where I've been, where I am, where I'm going), The Feelings Check-In (one card), The Family Story (four cards, one for each of you).
Each card carries a story arc, an image, and a conversation prompt. The child receives the story. The parent receives the deeper layer — the developmental wisdom underneath, the invitation to reflect on their own relationship to the theme. Not "teach your child about courage." More like: this card arrived today because your child's nervous system is reaching for something new. Your job isn't to name it for them — it's to hold the space while they find the word themselves.
The generation that's coming doesn't need to lose it and remember. They need to retain it.
Everything I build is part of the same system. The Becoming helps adults define the narrative of their own becoming. Be In Love rebuilds sovereign relationship with self. Cycle Wise maps the rhythms underneath. Butter, Broth & Bubbles nourishes the body that holds it all.
The Cub Cards are for the ones who come next. The ones we're raising inside all of this. So they arrive at adulthood with a body they trust, an imagination they haven't been trained out of, and a language for the inner world that most of us had to spend decades rebuilding.
I made this for my daughter first. Now it's for yours.
The Cub Cards are currently in production. Leave your email and I'll let you know the moment they're ready.
